Description: 

The Active Directory / Group Policy Administrator will support the day to day operations of DLA Email System to include proper functioning of the systems and troubleshoot problems as they arise. The support of these requirements are for both the NIPRNET and SIPRNET. The Administrator will be responsible for meeting the requirements detailed in Section 2.3.2.1. This position will be working off site but will need to be within commuting distance of a DLA Major Subordinate Command (MSC). Contractor may be asked to attend meeting at local DLA site or come on site to assist with work related to his job or attend training.

 The Administrator will support subset applications to support DLA Email system as a whole, i.e., Active Directory, Exchange, Office 365, Microsoft Azure, SPAM Filtering, Content Filtering and support, monitoring the flow and delivery of messaging traffic. The Administrator will keep the e-mail environment update with the latest Microsoft updates and patched as they are provided by DLA Information Operation Information Assurance.

 Administrators Primary focus will be the support of Exchange and Active Directory related tickets sent to the directory services que and the completing of incidents assigned to the directory services. These incidents consist of researching mail relate actions such as researching date and time messages where sent/received, recovery of deleted mail items, and extraction of mailbox related items. This position will require strong communication skills and a person that is very meticulous. Documentation on actions taken is key and the ability to follow complex procedures.

Responsibilities: 
  • Manage, plan, and implement AD in an Enterprise Network
  • Modify AD Schema
  • Manage AD Physical Architecture and AD Logical Architecture
  • Design, plan, and implement Sites and Subnets
  • Monitor AD Replication
  • Prepare a Domain Controller Strategy
  • Manage Trust Relationships
  • Design, plan, and implement Organizational Units (OUs)
  • Monitor and perform backup and restore of AD
  • Design, plan, and implement group policies for an enterprise environment
  • Plan and perform Group Policy for optimization, security, etc. Troubleshoots Group Policy
  • Perform Group Policy backup and recovery
  • Manage administrative templates for Group Policies
  • Create a strategy for configuring the user environment and the computer environment with Group Policy.

MCSE 2008

Qualifications:

  • Seven (7) years of progressive experience in Microsoft Windows Server 2003 or newer administration, Microsoft Active Directory 2007 or newer administration, and/or Microsoft Exchange 2010 or newer administration experience
  • Experience should include at least five (5) projects in one or more of the technical areas described above.  At least one project must have occurred within the past three (3) years.

Optional / Desired Qualifications: 

  • Document three years specialized experience as an Exchange Administrator
  • Document at least three years’ experience with Active Directory occurring within the past two years
  • Document at least two years’ experience with Exchange PowerShell working with Exchange 2007 or above
  • Document at least two years’ experience in Exchange 2010 and above occurring within the past two years
