Description/Required Skills: 

This position will work on site as a Programmer Analyst for the Finance Department, State of Alabama located in Montgomery, Alabama. This position is a temporary position that has the potential to convert into a State Employee at the end of the contract.

This position will take direction from the SBS IT Manager and SBS staff, the programmer analyst will be trained to maintain and support interfaces for the State ERP system. This position will be responsible for maintaining existing interfaces as well as working with team members and other state agencies to develop new interfaces to and from the ERP system. Technical Environment: The current technical environment for interface development is windows servers. The ERP uses an Oracle database. We use PDI (Pervasive Data Integrator/Actian) for data transformation from whatever source to XML.

 Requirements for the developer position to include but not limited to the following:

  1. Lead the design, development, testing, and implementation of C#/.NET MVC web applications
  2. Must be able to work in a software development environment following Agile/scrum methodologies
  3. Meet with users, gather and analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design
  4. Conduct unit testing and assist with integration testing
  5. Responsible for ensuring several web application development solutions are implemented according to customer requirements and work within allotted time/software constraints
  6. Provides development status updates to the management on a regular basis
  7. Provides guidance on best practices for software development and ensures adherence to organization’s IT policies
  8. Must be proficient in working with Visual Studio 2017
  9. Must have solid experience in MVC architecture
  10. Responsible for writing stored procedures, Views, Functions, Triggers, DDL/DML queries
  11. Experience in Web services and ETL processes
  12. Must be able to create complex reports using Crystal Reports/SSRS
  13. SNAP experience is preferred
  14. Must be experienced in TFS as Source Control

Professional Certifications: 

  1. CCNA (or equivalent skills/certifications)
  2. CCNP (or equivalent skills/certifications)


  1. Bachelor’s degree/Master’s degree with a minimum of 7 years’ experience in .NET application development
  2. High School diploma or GED with a minimum of 10 years of experience in .NET application development

Required Qualifications/Experience:

  1. Minimum of 5 years of ASP.NET experience with MVC
  2. Minimum of 7-10 years SQL experience
  3. Minimum of 3 years of ETL processes/Web services to transfer data between various systems
  4. Experience with Agile methodologies required
  5. Experience designing, developing and supporting enterprise web applications using MVC/HTML5/ C# required.+ years of network administration / engineering / network consulting / design, planning and implementation
  6. Experience working in eligibility programs or SNAP (DESIRED)
